Bloemfontein – The power dynamics within the Free State Provincial Government (FSPG) are increasingly raising eyebrows amid a series of controversial transfers involving senior officials.
First, Kgopotso Moahlodi, the Chief Financial Officer, was transferred to a position in the Office of the Premier that is already occupied by Sello Martins. The government’s personnel and salary system (PERSAL) reflects the post as occupied.
Secondly, Thabiso Makepe, Chief Director of the Programme Management Support Unit (PMSU), was transferred to a position that is already occupied by Dr Monyane. As things stand, Makepe, who is senior to Dr Monyane, is stationed at the Department of Health without a clearly defined role.
STEPUPSANews can confirm that Carol Tladi, Chief Director: Planning at the Department of Human Settlements, has been transferred to the Office of the Premier. However, information obtained by the publication suggests that the position to which she has been transferred does not exist on the approved structure.

Tladi follows John Matlakala, who also commenced duties in the Office of the Premier today.
In other Human Settlements-related developments, reports have emerged against a senior official accused of soliciting money from service providers. Service providers are preparing to come forward with evidence.
This matter could prove to be even more explosive than the controversial New Beginnings Project which is to be decided by National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in days.
This is a developing story.
