Bloemfontein – The Mangaung African Cultural Festival (MACUFE) is back after three years following a legal marathon.
STEPUPSANEWS can confirm the 2025 edition will be held on 3 – 7 September.
The last edition in ended in courts and while department was in and out of courts, Lemo festival was born in 2023 under businessmen Freddy Kenny and Ben Moseme.
Not only did Macufe end in court, it also got Provincial Treasury employees suspended namely Pakiso Lebone and Edward Kotjomela for payment. Their suspension was later uplifted.

Lebone is now acting Head of Department at Provincial Treasury.
A year later, Cufaaaa was born under Ben Moseme.
With Lemo and Cufaaaa held in October, while Macufe will be held in September, the Free State province will have three big events in a space of a month.
