Bloemfontein — Hardly eight months after the Free State Provincial Government (FSPG) appointed a service provider, only to send out RFQs days later in what many saw as a choreographed process, things are getting worse.
At the time, the Director-General, Dr Solomon Phera, had sent out invites to attendees on 18 November, with the venue confirmed, only for RFQs to go out on Saturday, 22 November.
No action was taken, including by the Auditor-General, and that impunity has exacerbated things.
STEP UP SA NEWS has it on good authority that an official in the office of the Chief Financial Officer, Khopotso Moahlodi, has allegedly not only shared a quotation from one service provider with another service provider, but also asked them to quote less.
Palesa Poole, who works with the budget but somehow is handling procurement, allegedly shared the quote three hours after the 11:00 deadline.
She remains in office to this day, sending RFQs like nothing happened.
Insiders with intimate knowledge say the matter has been referred to Human Resources.
There are also questions around procurement of Youth Expo, more so in September.
Next time Mathae speaks about fighting corruption just look her eye-ball-to-eye and laugh in her face.
Dimakatso Ngoko, Director of Human Resources, said the communication unit would respond to our questions. We are still waiting.
“Be advised that your enquiry has been forwarded to our communication Directorate for further handling.”
Free State ho monate! They don’t even respect the dead.
This is a developing story.
