Bloemfontein – MEC for COGTA and Human Settlements Teboho Mokoena, popularly known as “Sulky,” for his last born tendencies, is restructuring staff within the department in an effort to work only with preferred individuals.
STEPUPSANEWS can confirm that Sue-Suzan Seeku and Tebogo Malebana are on their way out having being given transfer letters on Tuesday.
Mokoena is also said to be planning to promote Zimasa Mbewu to Chief Director position, with plans to transfer Carol Tladi to the Office of the Premier (dustbin).
Mbewu is Mokoena’s spin doctor who in January 2024 said staff transfers are not news as if she is Alfa and Omega of news.
Her boss has since made irregular appointments including using security personnel from Social Development when he was MEC for DARD.
This comes amid claims that Mokoena lacks confidence in his communications team led by Mbewu and he competes for attention with Mathae as he sees himself as the next Premier.
Mokoena will be next Chairperson of ANC in Free State and Premier after the Provincial Conference.
He is not working the ground to be a back bencher, ask those Imvelo Safari Lodge how he refused to withdraw his contestation because he believed he has numbers.
Apart from transfers, Mokoena was directly involved in procurement of goods and services.

Critics further that he seeks personal publicity, wanting his pictures posted everywhere, and that those who deny him attention become enemies.
He did the same during ANC campaigns in 2024 demanding to be posted.
With Joyce “Pretenders” Mathae, Free State Premier heading to China, Mokoena will certainly throw tantrums if he is not acting Premier.
This is definitely “Napoleon complex” but today all the attention will be on him as he delivers his budget vote in his home town, Bethlehem.
He might hand out two houses just for cameras and the FSPG Facebook page will do the rest and he did on Christmas Day.
Tebogo Malebane didn’t respond to our questions.
