WATCH | 116KM of Grit, Glory & Basotho Pride – MoshoeshoeWalk 2026 Is Calling

Thabo Maretlane

Maseru – As Lesotho counts down to the 2026 edition of MoshoeshoeWalk, past participants say the 116km journey is more than a physical challenge, it is an experience that tests endurance, discipline and mental strength.

The annual three-day walk, set for 5–7 March 2026, has grown into one of the country’s most demanding and celebrated endurance events.

While Muslims undertake Hajj at least once in a lifetime and South Africans pride themselves on completing the Comrades Marathon, many Basotho believe every Mosotho should attempt MoshoeshoeWalk at least once.
