Parys – At least three small and medium enterprises Ngwathe Local Municipality received equipment through the Planning and LED Directorate led by MMC for Infrastructure and LED Cllr Mosuiwa Mofokeng, and Director for Planning and LED Dr Sive Dintsi.
The hand happened yesterday and was targeted at hardware and machinery to various local SMMEs.
The Executive Mayor of Ngwathe Local Municipality Cllr Victoria De Beer-Mthombeni has emphasized:
“through our Planning and LED Directorate, we are serious about empowering our youth and women to participate in the economy of our municipality. Furthermore, we requested our people to support these local businesses as part of economic growth and participation. This is a continuous intervention, as we will be embarking more on such developmental initiatives”
The municipal support programme for SMMEs championed by De Beer-Mthombeni, is a continuous intervention, supporting 10 local SMMEs quarterly and 40 SMMEs yearly with the internal municipal budget. Ngwathe SMEs, especially those run by the youth, are therefore encouraged to apply for support to initiate new or improve their existing business ventures, through the LED office.

As part of the municipality’s efforts to boost the local economy, as enshrined in the State of the Municipality Address, the benefitting SMMEs are located in all the towns of Ngwathe, ensuring that all municipal areas equally remain a priority for economic growth.

This municipal support is particularly aimed at enhancing job creation for the residents of the municipality. Residents are requested to support these local businesses.
