Bloemfontein – The Department of Public and Infrastructure (DPWI) in Free State is set to hand over second building to Social Department.

The R85 million Thusanong building is one the three this publication set its eyes on to monitor in 2023.

The other two buildings completing the trio were Boikhuco in Seven Days for Social Development and Andries Pretorius street for Education, it was meant to be exam centre.
Boikhuco has already been handed over to Social Development.
On the hand, the exam centre” building is still unoccupied despite completion of construction work and it will unlikely be used as the department of Education is using N8 Gateway Office Park at as cost of thousands if not millions of tax payers money.
N8 Gateway Office Park is subject to contractual disputes between PWI and owners.
The crux of the matter is the additional occupation of Education staff outside the original contract and payments.
How this office was chosen instead of others still remain a subject of investigation as it’s alleged they officially tailor made this project for this specific owner, just like Mathlabs project.
With three buildings done, we will continue to monitor CSR&T (roads), Education (schools) and Human Settlements (housing).
