Bloemfontein – Outgoing African National Congress (ANC) Mangaung Regional Treasurer, Sipho Mnembe, has set his sights on the Regional Secretary position ahead of the party’s reconvened regional conference.
Mnembe, who was elected Regional Treasurer during the 2022 regional conference, had earlier declined nomination for the same position during the now-nullified conference held at Bloem Spa earlier this year.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Mnembe confirmed that he is now available for nomination for the influential Regional Secretary position.
“It is not that we lack the time to act; it is our conscience that compels us to allow processes to continue only so far as these acts do not violate our societal good.
When we finally do act, it is because the time allotted has become a threat to the societal good.”
The ANC in Mangaung is expected to reconvene its conference next weekend following the nullification of the previous gathering.
The conference is anticipated to shape the future leadership direction of one of the party’s key regions in the Free State.
This is a developing story.
