CRYSTAL, DAGGA AND BROKEN WALLS AT PSYCHIATRIC CENTRE

Staff Reporter

Bloemfontein – Disturbing video footage obtained by this publication has exposed the shocking state of the psychiatric centre commonly known as Orange, raising serious concerns over patient care, safety and management at the institution.

The videos show overgrown grass around the premises, with piles of clothing and bedding dumped outside buildings. Inside the facility, patient rooms appear neglected, with broken walls, shattered windows, damaged drawers and untidy living spaces.

The footage has sparked outrage, with many questioning how mental health patients are expected to heal and recover in such degrading conditions.

WATCH

In a separate incident, dagga and crystal drugs were found in the possession of a patient at the centre, further intensifying concerns over security failures and the wellbeing of vulnerable patients.

The revelations are expected to place pressure on health authorities to urgently investigate conditions at the facility and account for what many are calling a collapse in standards.

It remains to be seen if the hospital authorities will open a criminal case as per mental health.
