Seven arrested for fake driver’s licences in Mangaung Metro

Bloemfontein – At least six foreign nationals and one South African have been arrested in Mangaung for allegedly driving with fake driver’s licences.

The first arrests took place last week and involved Chelestine Okeke, a Nigerian (CAS 457/03/2026), Moneshi Ndowa, a Zimbabwean (CAS 459/03/2026), and Elvis Matsoso, a South African (CAS 458/03/2026).

The remaining four suspects were arrested over the weekend.

All seven appeared in court yesterday and are expected to reappear next week for a formal bail application.

Ismael Kgamanyane, Head of Department for Community Safety at Mangaung Metro said law and order is the order.

“Law and order is the order of the day in Mangaung and lawlessness will never be tolerated. Gone are the days when people will do as they wish in Mangaung. Our multi-disciplinary operations with other Law Enforcement agencies continuing daily in all regions.”
