Bloemfontein – The 17th edition of of Cherry Jazz Festival scheduled for 8 November 2025, has been cancelled.
According to Bold Moves 198 PTY, the organisers, the cancellation is due to lack of financial support.

The cancellation comes few days before the festival date and a month after Bloemfontein held three festivals, one supported and fully funded by Provincial Government at a cost of R18 million.
The poorly marketed and attended Macufe attacked less than 2000 patrons despite R18 million backing from government.
Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation and DESTEA spent millions on MACUFE and the digital colloquium respectively but could not save the Cherry Jazz Festival.

Cry the beloved country.
