Bloemfontein – The Department of Health in Free State has taken nepotism to the greatest height ever imaginable.
This discovery follows the article we published last month in relation to Lizzie Setlai.
STEPUPSANEWS is reliably informed Setlai has put her house for sale on the 27 January 2025 and she allegedly moved in with Viceroy Mahlatsi, MEC for Health in December 2024 who is still married to Amelia Mahlatsi.

Sources close to Mahlatsi say he moved out of his matrimonial house and stayed with Setlai, Setlai then moved into the state house with Mahlatsi on the 13th December 2024 after he allegedly, paid lobola.
“Yes, Viceroy paid lobola for Setlai earlier in December, he only served his wife with divorce papers after Christmas, I think it was around the 27 or 28 December 2024.
Lizzie moved in just before reconciliation day, on the 13 December 2024.”
Another source said Setlai has been using the Mercedes Benz belonging to Mahlatsis.
Pictures of Setlai’s house which was put on sale show a Mercedes Benz parked in her yard and quick verification of the number plate confirms, indeed the car belongs Mahlatsi.

A term used to describe what Mahlatsi did is bigamy: marrying someone while legally married to someone else.
When the divorce is finalised, Mahlatsi will bid farewell to his 24 years marriage Amelia.
Mondli Mvambi, spokesperson for Department of Health did not respond to our questions which included Setlai’s qualifications and whether Mahlatsi who was on Lesedi FM in December talking safe sex has any moral high ground to talk about safe sex when he was cheating on his wife.
After we published the initial article, Mvambi wrote a letter asking we take down the article, apologise to parties mentioned and that Dr Setshego, acting CEO acted within his right.
This then pins Dr Setshego as an enabler, moving a clerk who is romantically involved with his MEC to communications officer without processes is to be spat on.
We afforded the depart a right of reply and asked Mvambi to confirm or deny if Mahlatsi and Setlai have an intimate relationship, he didn’t respond nor use right of reply we afforded.
This is a developing story.
