Bloemfontein – The reshuffling of Head of Departments in Free State Provincial Government is on the cards again after Joyce Mathae, Premier suffered a bloody nose in August.
Mathae was interdicted from transferring Mosa Masemene from Human Settlements to Social Development after Free State High Court Judge ruled in favor of the applicant on the 16 August 2024.
In her papers, Masemene via Peyper Attorneys, she mentioned three occasions she interacted with Mathae in her capacity as acting Premier while erstwhile Premier, Mxolisi Dukwana was in China and as the incumbent, they all relate to a contract Mathae wanted her to terminate which she refused and payment to contractors which she also refused.
Masemene also mentioned a review session that contractors complained to Mathae about and a day later, 30 July 2024, she was served with transfer letter.
None of these allegations have been refuted by Premier or her office or at least Saki Mokoena, MEC for Human Settlement.
STEPUPSANEWS has it on good authority that Godfrey Mahlatsi, head of department at Health will return to Provincial Treasury until his extended tenure ends on the 31 March 2025 with Masechaba Sesing heading to Health.
Insiders at say Sesing’s sin is protecting the public purse from looters hence her transfer.
According to Treasury sources Sesing has been a target since her refusal to process payments ahead of ANC rally in Qwaqwa where President Ramaphosa attended.
She also, allegedly, indirectly made Dr Takisi Masiteng, head of Department at Agriculture to report the missing R1.8m to the Hawks.
STEPUPSANEWS can also confirm Dr Takisi Masiteng is heading to Premier’s Office till his contract ends.
His sin, opening a case for the missing R1.8 million.
In other news Saki Mokoena who spent tax payers money staying in hotel after his appointment last year, will head to Egypt next month in what insiders at Human Settlements is raising eyebrows.
Mokoena will not be travelling alone but with the newly appointed head of communications who joined him from Agriculture.
The appointment of Zimasa Mbewu according to sources is unlawful as she was appointed without recruitment processes followed as no interviews were held though, the position was advertised.
Mbewu while at Agriculture, instead of answering questions on staff transfers linked to Mokoena, asked if staff transfers are newsworthy. Now she will be a centre of attention.
We will now shift the focus back to Human Settlements as a lot is happening.
