Treating comrades like nemesis caused ANC votes in Free State

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The 2024 national elections have shown both the Democratic Alliance and Economic Freedom Fighters have gained 4.19% and 0.19% respectively compared to the previous election.

With the ANC losing at least 9.15% and only having 16 seats out of 30 the ANC may have to run government alone not a coalition, but this is a self-created mess that can be easily linked to the new leadership.

The ANC will have a Premier, 10 MECs, a Speaker, a Deputy Speaker, a Chief Whip, and a Chair of Chairs. In total that will be 15 out of 16 and the remaining member can not cover all portfolio committees.

The opposition will dominate these committees and will hold the executive accountable.

While both the DA and EFF did a sterling job campaigning but it was the ANC that decampaigned itself as soon as the provincial conference was done.

The erstwhile Premier, Sefora Ntombela was recalled as if she was not an ANC member. Her sin was losing the conference.

Up next were her MECs; Montsheng Tsiu, William Bulwane, and Mamiki Qabathe.

Who can forget how Thembeni Nxangisa was fired via WhatsApp?

The erstwhile Provincial Secretary, Paseka Nompondo was also hunted like prey just because he used his own money to pay for transportation of ANC members who attended the ANC event, this fell off after President Ramaphosa’s ally threatened to leak information about members who hire Vianos, and fill them with girls.

It didn’t even there, these ANC members were excluded from campaigning for the ANC.

These were not the only people who were on the receiving end of the new refine, government employees were suspended, and transferred unlawfully, while others were fired.

Business people or service providers are expected to pay for party events or give leaders money in bribes.

Do you think these people and their families voted ANC?

LESSONS

In North West which ANC won convincingly, the incumbent Premier was not removed after the conference despite losing to the current chairperson because they beloved in unity and practiced.

In Limpopo, the premier was not removed despite supporting the losing camp in the national conference and the deputy chairperson is not earmarked for the premiership because of her VBS scandal.

But in Free State they just don’t care, the Mathlabs mastermind is set to be the MEC of the same department.

As fate has it, we have a one-on-one with the NPA head and she will give clarity to the Mathlabs investigations and possible prosecutions or maybe just like Phalaphala, it will be left in the hands of parliament.

Have they learned anything?

No, even after just crossing the line they still victimising Limakatso Mahasa for asking for reports.

Local government elections are coming soon, they will remember the words of the late Desmond Tutu.
