DNA tests confirm a burnt body is of Welkom High matriculant

Welkom – The DNA tests conducted on a burnt body dumped and found next to mine shaft in Welkom positively linked to a 19 year old matriculant of Welkom High School.

Thato Tumahole went missing on the 10 May 2024 after she allegedly went to the garage with friends and her body was found a month later next to a mine shaft, after her allegedly a 22 year old boyfriend got arrested and pointed where he dumped her burnt body.

The suspect, Mello Seapa shared a social post by Thato’s sister, Lerato Tumahole on the 12 May 2024.

Seapa was arrested on the 18 May 2024.

The DNA confirmation was received on Friday, 31 May 2024 and memorial service was held yesterday at the Welkom High School Hall.

Funeral service started at 08h00 this morning at St Lukes Methodist church.
