Maseru – The speedy intervention by Thabo Maretlane, Member of Parliament in Lesotho has saved lives after a head-on accident involving a quantum, ferrying eight South Africans and van ferrying four Basotho nationals in Ha Ramabanta, about 20 kilometers from Roma.

The accident claimed at least two lives from the van with the driver ejected down the 15-meter slope while the driver of the Quantum was stuck in the front seat with one leg broken, four times.
It only took jaws of life to help the driver from Vaal.

Maretlane who is a RFP member arrived minutes later from Maletsunyane Braai Festival where he was spotted with Sam Matekane, Prime Minister and Honorable Mojapele, Tourism Minister, according to sources, Maretlane called for help and a chopper from Lesotho Defense Force arrived.

Maretlane also helped with controlling traffic and only left after all parents were attended and the road cleared, next year he will be leading the 200th edition of Moshoeshoe Walk, a 116 km in March 2024.
