“You are mad”, Free State ANCYL convenor tells ANCYL coordinator

The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in the Free State is embroiled in insults as the convenor, Katleho Mangoejane tells provincial coordinator, Xolani Tseletsele, “you are mad”.

According to leaked Whatsapp messages of the PCPC group , the wheels started coming off when Phiwe Mathe, spokesperson for the youth league shared the media statement of the Provincial Working Task Team (PWTT) meeting held on the 6 September 2022 virtually, much to the annoyance of young leaders.

The media statement in possession of this publication was met with hostility as PCPC members felt it was premature and it was Dikgang Parker who took strong exception to the contents of the media statement.

“Cde Phiwe Mathe don’t undermine us please.”

He added another comment four minutes later explaining what his issues were with the contents and asked Phiwe about the revolving structure.

“The PWTT recommends and the PCPC must sit to take decisions. How do you publish a statement of the PWTT without a structure resolving?”

Up next was the radical and ever-vocal Lonwabo Dyi also asking a critical question.

“PCPC deployees to the region were not even called for an input….hay masibaleni. PWTT was deployed to Mangaung I see. What report was discussed here?”

It was Katleho Mangoejane who led from the front calling Xolani Tseletsele after he posted a letter in the group purported to be meeting the agenda.

“You are mad.  You cant wake up and call a meeting. We are supposed to agree on a meeting. You are starting with this behavior again.”

In response, Tseletsele said he called Mangoejane.

“I called and you agreed. and o skare I am mad McNamara.”

In response, Mangoejane said Tseletsele spoke about the meeting and said they will have the PCPC before congress to adopt reports to which Tseletsele said.

“You were asleep, but I understand – that’s what you do.”

Tseletsele took the group into his confidence and said he will release a statement to clarify the “Lekoko Choir”.

In another leaked whatsapp message from the PWCT group, Tseletsele said he goes not disagree with the decisions before leaving the group.

Phiwe Mathe, ANCYL spokesperson could not be reached for comment.
