Johannesburg – Thousands of African National Congress (ANC) supporters marched and gathered at Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg in March, in defence of South Africa’s independence and democratic values.
Franco Morobe from the East Rand emphasised the importance of national sovereignty, stating that South Africa must remain firm in protecting its democratic institutions.

Bobo Nqabani from Johannesburg echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the need for unity and active civic participation among citizens.

Supporters from Ekangala were also in attendance, demonstrating widespread backing across different regions.

The gathering comes amid ongoing developments at the Madlanga Commission, particularly concerning matters related to Ekurhuleni.

Meanwhile, the ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) in Qwaqwa used the platform to encourage women to actively participate in politics and to vote for the ANC in the upcoming local government elections.

Informal traders and hawkers were also present, displaying a variety of goods, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
