Bloemfontein – The Free State Gambling, Liquor and Tourism Authority (FSGLTA) board is failing to explain how it appointed a 59 year old on a 5 years contract against company policy.
A special board meeting was called yesterday following our story on Monday and a company policy in possession clearly states 60 is a retirement age and at least four employees were let go when they reached 60.

One of the four employees let go, Thami Motsoaseke already has a case against the entity and might add this on his case.
Motsoaseke is owed for his unfair dismissal which he won but the entity kept appealing and as a result, he stayed at home for 5 years.
The other three are: Abram Classen, Sophie Nzule and Mosemanegape Matshidiso.
The board is also accused of failing to act on AGSA report in relation to the 28 licences issued “controversially”.
On Monday, employees downed tools in protests of corruption and labor matters.
WATCH:
In 2024 the entity spent R14 million on labour matters, you will swear there are no lawyers working at FSGLTA.
WATCH:
MEC Ketso Makume and HOD Dr Mbulelo Nokwequ your house is imploding and your failure to provide oversight and hold the board accountable will haunt you for years to come.
