Bloemfontein – The equality court will on Friday, 4 July 2025, hear the matter brought by Lehlohonolo Mathabatha against Bar With No Name, an establishment based in Sasolburg.
This after former employee, Mathabatha approached the court following the publication on YouTube on the 21 July 2021, the video was taken down after human rights commission allegedly alerted the establishment of its investigation.
In the video now below (link), Bertiaan Van Der Westhuizen and Tyrone Scutte are in the bath rooms and they turn the camera towards urinals with faces of president Cyril Ramaphosa, former President Jacob Zuma, and former African Union chairperson, Dr Nkosazana Zuma.

Speaking exclusively to this publication, Mathabatha expressed her so strong views about the treatment they (blacks) received.

Gert Janse Van Rensberg, owner of the bar said the incident happened a year earlier before Mathabatha joined.
“Regarding the case you mentioned, please note that the individual in question was not employed by the company at the time of the incident.
In fact, her employment only began approximately a year later.
She was subsequently dismissed due to misconduct involving fraud against both the company and its clients.”
Asked if any action was taken Van Rensberd said.
“Yes, we did take appropriate action.
We have always been committed to doing the right thing, and our business was — and continues to be — well-respected and supported by the community. We are proud of the positive relationships we’ve built over the years and remain actively involved in community development.
Many of the former bar staff are still employed within my other companies, where we’ve invested in developing their skills and helping them build a better future.
We believe in unity, growth, and the value of every person. We are one nation, and we love and care deeply for our people.

Gert Janse van Rensburg is a pathological liar, I was employed at the bar with no name and little Kingdom, both his businesses. The treatment black employees received from him, and his managers is shocking. I have so much to say about this man, and so are other previous employees. He retrenched us, without notice, and sold his business just to runaway from giving us our monies. We still have pending cases of CCMA against him. ..he even tried to bribe our numsa representative because just to make the case disappear.
The bar with no name, opened at 08h00 in the morning, until the 02h00..the following day, we worked for more than 12 hours and we didn’t have a basic salary. White waitress had the privilege of being given big tables, because they will get big tips. Black waitress would sweep the yard, wipe tables, fill up condiments while white waitresses were fooling around with the manager in the office, as soon as we are done with everything they come and serve only big tables. When it’s time to cash up, white waitress would cash up first. At that time it’s already 02h30 in the morning. We black people, were offered a room with 3/4 beds, that we shared with men. Men and women slept in that room, others would sleep on the floor if the beds are full. That room was in a bad condition, Gert Janse van Rensburg ‘s dogs won’t sleep in that kind of a room, but it was good enough for us because we were black people.
What Rosina is stating is no lie. I used to work for Gert at The Bar With No Name myself. Shifts started from 7am and went until 2am the next day. That’s a 17hour shift with no hourly pay. Waiters and bartenders were asked to fill in their work sheets(clock in and clock out times) but were never paid hourly. No salaries. They lived on tips and commission only. Waiters had to pay 5%of their tips to the bartenders. On the day the Waiters asked for hourly pay, the black Waiters were subjected to cleaning the parking lot sweep the roof, clean the toilets, wash dishes, all while serving customers and white Waiters doing nothing until 3am the next day, even though he had dedicated employess for those jobs(cleaners, kicthen staff and grounds man). Gert came back the next day with a smirk on his face asking if they still wanted an hourly pay. Of course everyone changed their minds because of the suffering they had endured the day and night before. All except Lehlohonolo who took it upon herself not be subjected by such because he had then given them new contracts to sign as general workers and no longer as Waiters, the job he had given them and chose to expose him. He later on had his manager tell the employees to write statements stating that the waitress (Lehlohonolo) that exposed him was stealing or he will close the company and they will all lose their jobs. Typical coercion and exploitation. Taking advantage of the unfortunate background they come from and how rare work is to find. What is then a black child to do when faced with such?
He is stating that his previous employees from The Bar With No Name are still working for him, which ones? Because I know he has a whole list of ex employees who filed cases agaisnt him at the CCMA. All of these above are FACTS. FACTS-STATEMENTS THAT CAN BE PROVEN.
