Fish stinks from the head: IQP reveal Free State Premier lied again

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The Internal Question Paper (IQP) of the third quarter of 2024, show Free State Premier Joyce “Pretenders” Mathae may have been economic with the truth about department of Human Settlement.

Mathae went public to accuse Vharanani in viral video over incomplete RDP houses while monies were paid.

WATCH:

She also allegedly asked Teboho “Sulky” Mokoena, MEC for Human Settlement to instruct for Mosa Masemene, head of department to terminate their contract in August 2024.

This, is contained in the notice filed in court by Masemene after Mathae’s failed attempt to transfer her to Social Development and has never been refuted.

Free State High court interdicted Mathae.

According to IQP, Mathae during her SOPA announced her provincial government will be embarking on a process to recover all monies which were unduly paid to companies that didn’t finish the projects.

On the 14 August 2024, Freedom Front + MPL, A Cloete asked Mathae the following questions:

In view of her announcement during the SOPA 2024/2025 regarding payments to service providers without work being done and the provincial government’s “process to recover all monies which were unduly paid” to such service providers,

  1. Whether government identified how many service providers have been paid unduly, if so, how many,
  2. Whether any provincial government has embarked upon a process to inform mentioned providers of insufficient services provided, if so, i) which departments.

In response, Mathae said not applicable to almost all departments but when it came to the department in charge of RDP houses, she said.

“After thorough internal investigations, the Department confirms that there are no service providers under its jurisdiction who have been paid for work that was not completed except for material advances legacy projects which are currently being reviewed legally.

The Department maintains strict compliance with procurement regulations and all payments are only authorized upon the satisfactory completion of work as certified by the responsible officials.”

But why did Mathae say what she said in the video doing the rounds on social media and mention RDP houses specifically?

Where did she get such information?

It’s not the first time Mathae finds herself on the opposite side of the truth.

Apart from her relationship with the truth or lack thereof, Mathae is awaiting her fate from Director of Public Prosecutions after the Hawks handed a docket for a decision to prosecute or not.

This followed damning allegations by Patrick Phuti of New Beginning Project.

In December, Khopotso Moahlodi, Chief Financial Officer at COGTA was transferred to the same position in the office of the Premier, however, the position she was transferred was not vacant meaning the office of the Premier has two CFOs.

Coincidentally, the main reason why Moahlodi left COGTA is the alleged fall out with the same Sulky Mokoena.

Mokoena is not new you controversy as he allegedly took delegated power from Dr Takisi Masiteng, former Head of Department at Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

He also spent thousands of tax payers money sleeping in Southrrn Sun abd Protea Hotel.
