AGSA declare CUT pothole tender irregular

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The Auditor General of South Africa ( AGSA) has declared the much talked about pothole patching tender irregular.

These revelations were exclusively revealed to this publication yesterday.

According to insiders who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of victimization, the pothole patching tender which was awarded to Central University of Technology has been declared irregular.

Another mole, AGSA flagged PFMA.

“The biggest issue raised here is that processes were not followed in line with PFMA and Treasury regulations.

The pothole patching project was another EPWP scandal that we reported about.

There are at least two of the other EPWP scandals we reported (one at Sport, Arts and Culture and Recreation and Social Development) that show a pattern of public funds either, growing legs, wings and flying, or disappearing like a fart.

Another scandal we investigating relates to the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure where public funds were channelled to a certain school based in the suburbs.

All these show, government officials are ba tsoma ka letswai.

Unfortunately for the department, it’s not only the pothole tender that AGSA dealt a huge blow, the AG also found the Fleet Management has regressed after four consecutive clean audits with qualification on RBE evaluations meaning the department didn’t value it properly.

The department itself was not spared, AGSA audit moved it from unqualified to qualified.

The MEC at the time was the current Premier, Joyce Mathae who lied in parliament in response to a question in the legislature.

Not only did she lie, but she transferred staff and charged others, the same thing she is doing tomorrow with HoDs.

If you want to know what’s going to happen to the Free State Provincial Government, look no further than the pothole patchers.

If you judged Premier by her Lesufism, her busy doing nothing approach, going from hospital to hospital, you would be so impressed.

That’s exactly what she did in her previous portfolio going to roadblocks, using departmental fleet to do Municipal work and even posing for a picture next to a pothole while a car standing next to her was declared unroadworthy.

This is a developing story.
