Hawks pounce on Office of the Premier in Free State

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) affectionately known as Hawks, are allegedly camping in the Office of Free State Premier.

According to sources with intimate knowledge within the Hawks who spoke on condition of anonymity, this is standard practice.

“This is standard when when we investigate, we conduct these operations.”

Another source said the Hawks have been in the highest office of the province for weeks.

“Our team has been there (Office of The Premier) for weeks.”

In her inauguration speech, Free State Premier, Joyce Mathae promised to crack down on corruption.

However, where she comes from, Community Safety, Roads and Transport as MEC, she started meeting with contractors and allegedly threatened to terminate their contracts if they don’t plough back to the community.

This is one Department the Hawks should visit and literally open an office.

Previously, the Hawks conducted search and seizure at Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, and Human Settlement but as almost than not, nothing came out of the searches.

This is a developing story.
