Free State Education harboring alleged sexual predator

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The Department of Education in Free State is accused by Motheo district staff of harboring an alleged sexual predator.

STEP UP SA News has it on good authority that December Moloi, Motheo district director is facing no less than two charges of sexual assault internally and a case of rape laid by an intern.

Sources close to the department say Moloi is protected because of the performance of the district and his proximity to SADTU leadership in the province.

The department has played ignorance to our inquiries through its spokesperson, Howard Ndaba saying no one has reported any case against Moloi to the provincial office.

Our investigations have discovered there was a grievance hearing on 12 June 2023, headed by Sam Mokgobo, Chief Director of Infrastructure Planning, and another hearing was held on 21 August 2023, Mokgobo was accompanied by Gubuza while Tshabalala and Dorcas Maralepedi were Moloi’s witnesses.

We can also confirm on 21 August 2023, there are no less than five cases levelled against Moloi including that of Mr Koenaesele who according to sources is frustrated by the toxic environment.

It’s almost four months now since the grievance hearing and the department which is responsible is obliviously unaware.

This is the same department found to have made not only irregular but shocking appointments by PSC.

This is a developing story and we will also delve into finances.
