Bloemfontein – Following an article in which we reported government contractors paid for the 2019 ANC Manifesto review held in Welkom, there is more.
At least two white-owned companies have reached out to this publication after allegedly being asked to help the ANC by Mathabo Leeto, the Treasurer.
This meeting, according to complainants happened on Thursday, 9th November and the ANC matter was the last on the agenda.
“We were invited to the Department of Health and raised our concerns as far as our frustrations go including late payments.
Once everything was said and done, the ANC was sneaked in and we were told it’s the ruling party and must be helped.”
Another source confirmed and said they left when they were asked to write company details.
“It’s normal to sign the attendance register but when we were asked to write down further details we left, we suspect those details were about how we are owned.”
It is not a secret that ANC deployees (MECs) are meeting with contractors and it has happened at Police, Roads, Transport, and Education with contractors even threatened that their three-year contracts will be terminated by MEC Mathae if they do not plow back to the communities.
In other news, Step UP is in possession of the acting letter of one of the HoD appointed by Sefora Ntombela with only the start date and nothing else. The HoD in question has been in office for over 11 months while the acting should have automatically lapsed in February.
We are in the process of engaging AGSA, Hawks, and the Public Service Commission on such.
In due course we will ask the ANC of a list of their finders, and link the jobs these companies get from government.
