Bloemfontein – The question of whether the appointment of Sello More, the newly appointed City Manager of the debilitated Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality is a step in the direction and not, will be seen in due course as he will have to dig deep.
More who started just last week, is not new to the municipality having worked as Executive Director for a full term and acting City Manager.
With over fifteen years of experience in various spheres of government coupled with at least four degrees including a Bachelor of Administration Honors and a Masters of Public Management from UFS, More will have to get his hands dirty.
Step Up is on good authority More has reportedly started cleaning the municipality overheads by asking all employees who do not have appointment letters not to show up.
Dealing with ghost workers is the easiest of them all though he will face resistance from the beneficiaries, below is what he should attend to urgently:
Service delivery,
Garbage collection,
Potholes,
Taxi rank,
Hawkers,
Mangaung Metro Police,
Cleaning the city
He has seemingly started with an immediate plan, we will monitor his mid and long term plans.
