Joburg Mayor Rips into Dukwana’s spokesperson while Dukwana gives strongest link to purging of hospital CEOs

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The spokesperson of the Free State Province Premier, Sello Dithebe found himself on the receiving end of an attack from the acting Executive Mayor of the City of Joburg, Kenny Kunene.

Kunene, who hails from Odendaal outside Welkom and is a member of Patriotic Alliance went for Dithebe’s throat in leaked WhatsApp voice notes and is accusing him of bringing up his prison history in a political turf.

He starts by accusing Dithebe of having left ANC to join COPE and returned with cap in hand begging and saying unprintable words.

In another voicenote Kunene says.

“Ya Sello, you are idolizing Mxolisi Dukwana who was never in the struggle, you are making a documentary with Dan Khothule who was never in the struggle and you seek to link my life ten years after I was released from prison to portray me as a criminal forever.”

Kunene says they made petrol bombs with Dithebe in Kutlwanong and some people died in the struggle and Dithebe must not behave like he is the only struggle icon from Odendaalsrus.

Dithebe is not the first person to receive Kunene’s sushi, the former DA leader in Tshwane also felt the wrath of Kunene recently.

In other news, the attendance of the ANC Women’s League at the International Nurses Day event on Friday has raised eyebrows.

The event was held in Bohlokong just outside Bethlehem, hosted by MEC, Mathabo Leeto, and Premier, Mxolisi Dukwana paid tribute to nurses.

In yet another indication that the newly elected ANC leadership plan to purge administrators, Dukwana publicly asked Leeto to focus on hospital CEOs and their contributions.

As Premier he said nothing about challenges facing nurses in hospitals and clinics or how his government is planning to fund students intending to study nursing at least.

What happened to 50 000 jobs they promised? Premier must look no further than his Gauteng counterpart, Panyaza Lefusi who in his first 6 months has created employment and power plant.
