BREAKING NEWS: Double trauma for a nine months old patient after an ambulance hit a pothole and lost control

Bloemfontein – Following the launch of the Easter Road Safety campaign on Friday on the N8, a patient from Ladybrand in Free State suffered another trauma when the ambulance they were traveling in hit a pothole causing the ambulance to go on its side.

The patient was not injured during the accident, though one ambulance crew member suffered moderate injuries while the other suffered minor injuries.

The ambulance was transferring a patient from Senorita Ntlabathi Hospital in Ladybrand to Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein.

As previously reported, the R26 road from Ladybrand until Reitz is full of potholes even those traveling from Johannesburg to Maseru use the Butha-Buthe border post, drive inside Lesotho, exit through Maputsoe border post and continue to drive to Maseru via R26.

Potholes on the N8 are nothing new as another accident happened yesterday more details will be shared tomorrow.

The crew was transferring a nine months old child to Pelonomi Hospital together with her mother.

The mother complained of hand & neck pain after accident she’s currently at Pelonomi Trauma receiving medical care.

The baby is fine without any injuries”
