Hawks circle SACR over Macufe

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) has circled the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture, and Recreation offices in Bloemfontein, over Macufe, and seized documents.

The first stop was the SCM and HR offices where documents were seized, followed by the Finance office at the Business Partners building.

Step Up SA News reporter was on the ground and witnessed Hawks officials loading documents in the car as seen in the headline.

The next stop was the HoDs office where they spend hours seizing documents.

Sources from Hawks with intimate knowledge say the documents seized go as far as Macufe 2017.

“We have seized all documents from 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022. We have reasonable suspicion that public money was misused.”

Asked if they are done our source said.

“We are not done, we are going back today and once we have gone through every document our principals will take decisions.”

The 2022 edition of Macufe became a thorny issue when DS Consortium took SACR to court over the appointment of Consumer Connectedness (C-2) and they won after the court declared the tender unlawful and set it aside.

In other news sources in the IPWC say Limakatso Mahasa is on her own as the IPC push for her removal.

Premier Sefora appointed
Matsheng Tsiu, Health MEC to act at SACR and raised alarms.

This is a developing story.
