Cutting Edge News, Real Stories From South Africa

“Dukwana is showing leadership by talking to Magashule,” says ANC leader

The Free State Interim Provincial Committee leader, Mxolisi Dukwana has been hailed for his utterances during an interview with Newsroom Afrika’s Govan Whittles on Friday.

Dukwana told the television channel that he met the suspended African National Congress (ANC)’s Secretary General; Ace Magashule, three weeks ago and told him that he should avail himself to help the ANC instead of working against it.

As a known Magashule arch-enemy Dukwana’s comments came as a surprise considering his testimony in the State Capture Commission but the ANC leader from Thabo Mofutsanyane hailed Dukwana.

During his testimony Dukwana alleged the Gupta family offered him R2 million a month which he rejected but accepted R10 000.

“The Convenor spoke like a mature leader, this is what we expect from leaders to unite members and not isolate them.

As a leader, you lead even those who oppose you politically and you can’t be angry at them.

He has shown leadership.”

Asked if this posture will not send a wrong message to Dukwana’s supporters and those who felt marginalized under Magashule our source said.

“Leadership ke kgomo ya moshate, whatever you do you will always be judged. Imagine if he said Dukwana and his IPC must address the disputes as they can deter the province from going to the 55th national conference.”

In other news branches in Thabo Mofutsane are allegedly stolen.

This is a developing story.
