Cutting Edge News, Real Stories From South Africa

ANC agrees with DA, EFF, and AASD that Siyonzana must go.

A faction of the African National Congress in the Free State province through its Interim Provincial Committee is agreeing with the opposition in Mangaung that it’s Executive Mayor, Mxolisi Siyonzana is failing and must go.

This is as the faction of the O R Tambo party resolved to recall Siyonzana in what Khongolose cited as failures to implement turnaround plans.

In May, Siyonzana survived his first motion of no confidence from three parties, and sources within the ANC at the time said much as the ANC was not happy they would not support a motion sponsored by the opposition.

Hardly five months later the IPC resolved to recall him for the same reasons opposition parties cited in May.

A source from IPC said ghost workers and missing millions forced the ANC to act after it became clear that Siyonzana was not prepared to dissolve the Centlec board after IPC instructed him.

A source from Mangaung IRC who spoke on condition of anonymity said it’s a fight against Xhosalite.

“There is a general concern that Xhosas are running every municipality in the province and we are aware of efforts by the national chair and finance minister who are pushing for Xhosas everywhere. We are tired of Xhosalites.”

The ANC has submitted three names: Seiso Mohau, Greg Nthatisi, and Lulama Titi as possible replacements for Siyonzana.

Many are saying Mohai is seen as a threat to the chairmanship and ultimately premiership and this is to kill his ambitions as he will be a Mayor.
In other news, the City of Roses will soon announce a City Manager, the manager will be a Xhosa from Eastern Cape.
