Cul-De Sac as IPC Fails to convene a conference

The commitment and mandate given to the African National Congress Interim Provincial Committee in the Free State Province to at least convene a provincial conference is turning into a dead end.

After the Free State High Court ordered the IPC to the conference no later than the end of September many in the ANC had faith and hope but once September ended the writing was on the wall.

We asked Oupa Khoabane if the IPC has failed and he said:

“The IPC operates within an environment that has not been normal for many years. It is an environment that needs time and patience to undo.

The IPC is trying with everything possible to build the organization and, therefore, has not failed.”

In July we had an exclusive interview with Paseka Nompondo and we asked if Free State will hold its conference and this was what he said:

WATCH:

Now that the IPC has failed dismally, the province will not participate in the national conference for the unprecedented 3rd time having failed to send voting delegates in 2012 and 2017 after courts found and declared processes to have been flawed.

Who is to blame for the mess the IPC is in? The divided NEC and NWC decided to fold their arms while infighting infiltrated the province.

This is a developing story.
