Following the interview we had with Paseka Nompondo, the Free State ANC Coordinator in which he confirmed the branches will start electing their leaders in August, Thabo Manyoni says he is ready to lead if the branches want him to be the chairperson.
In April we ran a story on how ANC leaders ate Sefora Ntombela, Free State Premier’s head after she shared a banner of Thabo Manyoni, former Mangaung Mayor for provincial chairpersonship with sources saying that was seen as her endorsement.

We sat down with Thabo Manyoni and we covered a range of issues including his involvement in the now famous Supreme Court of Appeal judgment that declared the 2017 provincial conference unlawful.
Thabo who was contesting Ace Magashule, the now-suspended secretary-general of ANC was very critical of the conference and even claimed votes were rigged.
Asked if the ANC Free State is risking the unprecedented record of its delegates not being able to vote in the national conference and his role in the nullified conference.
With allegations that money plays a key role in ANC conferences as alluded by Babalo Madikezela, ANC Eastern Cape leader, and Zamani Saul, Northern Cape Premier who said the money used to buy comrades alcohol is money that is stolen from the government Manyoni confirmed money buys delegates.
This year alone delegates spent time either in court or on credentials as we have seen in the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga and Gauteng with little or no time for policy discussions and we thought it will be very important for all those who want to lead to tell us why should they be elected and their policy position.
We asked Thabo why should he be elected and this is what he said.

Manyoni was Municipal Manager at Maluti-A-Phofung and Mangaung Metro before he became the Executive Mayor of Mangaung and national chairperson of SALGA.
It was under was that Dr. Molemela stadium was refurbished, Hoffman Square was refurbished and the useless Mangaung Taxi Rank.
We asked him about the state of municipalities following the scathing AGSA report in which Free State municipalities scored zero Manyoni and he feels he is the right person.
In an interesting twist Sefora Ntombela who was seen as supporting Manyoni has also launched her bid themed “Women who do not move, do not notice their political chains”.
We have sent an invite for a one-on-one interview so she can outline her plans and why she must be elected when governance under her watch is in the pits.
Others are asking Toto Makume to contest and time will tell.
This shall apply to all those who want to lead, re le batla one by one.
