Mass exodus at Centlec as board members resign

Following the resignation of Advocate Teboho Manyi from Centlec SOC LTD after Kenosi Moroka, the board chairman asked Mxolisi Siyonzana to step in. Two more board members resigned.

Step UP SA News has it on good authority that Thandi Mazibuko and Yolisa Skwintshi have tendered their resignations on Friday after we published an article titled We are dysfunctional, Moroka begs Siyonzana to step-in

This leaves the embattled board with three members; Kenosi Moroka, Themba Ngubeni, and Rele Tsiki.

It’s not clear if Mxolisi Siyonzana will finally disband the board because it does not quadrate but even with 6 members it was just as useless.

The question now is can the board members be held responsible for their failure and be declared delinquents?

These are board members who last sat was in November 2021 when AGSA presented audit report and in that last meeting the board attended a meeting with ANC concerning Centlec’s decision to cut power at government buildings.

Interestingly, the ANC account is up to date.

Thabo Malgas, company secretary did not respond to our questions.
