Premier and acting DG square off over appointment

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The filling of vacant Director-General position of Free State Provincial Government (FSPG) is hanging in the balance, not merit but on who gets to be provincial spokesperson.

STEPUPSANEWS can confirm Motale Sebego, former SABC News Regional Editor scored the highest during recent interviews but his appointment as the mouth of FSPG is used as a bargaining tool.

At the heart of it is the vacant Director-General position and should Sebego be appointed, Dr Phera will not be as Director-General and should Matshediso Setai be appointed, Dr Phera will also be appointed.

Dr Phera is competing with Dr Moeketsi Mosola, former City Manager of Tshwane Metro.

The panel for provincial spokesperson consisted of:

– Dr Solomon Phera, acting Director-General(chair)

– Dr Mafole Mokalobe, Deputy  Director-General: Policy & Planning

– Advocate Kuni Ditira, acting Deputy Director-General: Corporate Service

– Dr Masego Tshabalala, head of department Community Safety, Roads and Transport

The submission chain starts from Advocate Ditira with Dr Phera approving as Chief Accounting Officer.

Yesterday, the competency test results returned and it remains to be seen if the appointment letter will be out or not.

Should the appointment be challenged, as it will should there be any interference, officials involved with bear the brunt.

A LEOPARD NEVER CHANGES ITS SPOTS

Advocate Mojalefa Molotsi

At Community, Safety, Roads and Transport, Advocate Mojalefa Molotsi was appointed DDG and we reported about his appointment three weeks before closing date of applications, way before interviews were held.

Who was the political head? Joyce “Pretenders” Mathae.

Winston Mokoai

Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality almost hired Winston Mokoai and his contract was ready only for the municipality to realise he has been released from prison on bail on fraud charges emanating from fake qualifications.

On the 17 September 2024, after getting bail he went straight from court to Mangaung Metro.

Mokoai worked for Department of Health and resigned after being flagged but the Hawks were already on his tail.

According to sources at MMM Mathae wanted the municipality to hire Mokoai.

A WhatsApp was even created discussing his job but the discovery of his criminal case collapsed everything.

HISTORY

Bargaining council ruled in favor of NEHAWU in the matter between Dibolelo Mance and Dibuo Mabitle after documents were tampered with.

Stupidly enough, Mabitle’s score card grew legs and disappeared like a Nigerian fart.

Mabitle is owed just below R10 million because of one stupid political decision.

In other news, Hawks officials are allegedly being used to fight political battles and targets are Mxolisi Dukwana and Mathabo Leeto right in the middle of Madlanga Commission.

The empire is naked.
