Mangaung and Lejweleputswa very unlikely to have conferences

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The terms of ANC regional leaders in Mangaung and Lejweleputswa are coming to an end in the next three weeks and the provincial head quarters is not providing leadership.

Both these regions had chaotic and extremely disorganised conferences in November 2022, with police called to defuse the situation.

Mangaung had parallel conferences and the then IPC deployed officials to these two conferences.

Kelebogile Wesi and Mamiki Qabathe were sent to Bon Hotel while Mxolisi Dukwana in his capacity as IPC convener went to Imvelo.

WATCH:

Patrick Monyakwane emerged as the chairman from Bon Hotel while Lawrance Mathae emerged from Imvelo Safari conference.

Ultimately, the Imvelo conference was declared the legit conference.

In Welkom delegates were blocked from entering the conference venue.

Both regions are set for conferences and no BGMs have been held according to insiders.

MANGAUNG
Vusi Sogaqa, deputy chairperson of the ANC IN Mangaung is tipped to take over from Lawrence Mathae but it will be a contest between him and Lulama Titi.

Sources say there no branches currently and one of the requirements is 70% of each branch need to complete political education.

None of 51 branches in Mangaung held their BGMs.

With local government elections creeping, it seems Gwede Matanshe was right after all, no capacity just shouting and singing.

ANC TOP 5
The leadership of Dukwana, Makume, Motsoeneng, Mance and Leeto is the weakest ever and Mathae, Mokoena and Mbalula combo is going to eat them for breakfast at the Provincial Conference.

The Democratic Alliance, Economic Freedom Fighters, Patriotic Alliance, Action SA and Alliance for Afrikan Alliance for Social Democrats will finish what is left of the carcass next year.
