A case was reported to the Hawks and it was registered on the 21 November 2024, at Parkroad Police Station CAS 966/11/2024.

Last month, the Hawks confirmed an investigation into another bogus procurement that cost Agriculture R1.8 million and no goods were delivered.

Moliehi Moeng, spokesperson for DARD said they have taken action.

“Yes, disciplinary action has been taken against employee(s) implicated.“

In our follow up leading up to this story we asked what kind of action was taken as some of the employees moved with Teboho “Sulky” Mokoena, MEC to Human Settlements and she has not responded despite committing to.

The question remains, which employees were and what action?

STEPUPSANEWS can confirm at least four employees moved with Mokoena and two were immediately placed on higher positions as acting Chief Director and Deputy Director respectively.

Another one rejoined Social Development last month.

Details of their positions at DARD and their current positions will be disclosed in due course.

MEC Mokoena spent thousands of tax payers money staying in hotels after his appointment as MEC for DARD in 2023, last year, as MEC for Human Settlements he went to Egypt from 2-10 November 2024.

The cost for that trip, according to the Quote SENT to Mokoena was R745 000.

If you want to know why Dr Takisi Masiteng and Mosa Masemene were pushed out of DARD and Human Settlements, we go show you.

This is a developing story because surely this can’t be only transactions.
