Hawks nab a suspect linked to the burglary at NPA offices in prison

Bloemfontein – The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) known as Hawks have arrested a 28 year old suspect linked to burglary at NPA offices in 2023.

Already serving a 3 years jail term for a separate burglary case at Wepener Prison, the suspect was arrested on Friday and will appear in court today 2023 crime.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Zweli Mohobeli, spokesperson for the Hawks, the suspect broke into NPA offices.

“On 4 December 2023, security personnel at the NPA offices reported the burglary. An unknown suspect had apparently forced entry through a window. Several valuable items such as laptops were missing. DNA samples, including blood stains, were collected on the scene.”

In conclusion Moholobeli said the suspect is wanted for so other burglary cases.

“The forensic laboratory results have come back pointing to the suspect. It was also discovered that the suspect is wanted for at least six cases of burglary, mostly committed in the Bloemfontein CBD. “
