Bloemfontein – Hardly 72 hours after Lt-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, KZN’s Provincial Police Commissioner made startling revelations of dockets growing wings and disappearing, Free State province said “hold my beer” and prove him right.
This as a docket (cas 69/5/2025) and witness statement of Gender Based Violence (GBV) against Pakiso Lebone, acting Head of Department at Provincial Treasury went missing and could not be found during his court appearance last week.

According to source with intimate knowledge, Lebone and the victim were in a relationship when the assault happened in May.
“My friend suffered and continues to suffer to this day, it took the police five days to arrest Pakiso Lebone, her then boyfriend after the incident.
She was assaulted on the 10 May 2025, opened the case at Bainsvlei police station and the arrest only happened five days later on the 15 May 2025, after pressure from the victim and he got bail few hours later.”
She says her friend, *Lerato was traumatised and feared for her life.
“The police are failing her, first the docket can’t be found, secondly, the police are hesitant to look for CCTV footage despite having the knowledge of what processes to follow in cases like this.”
Another source said the station commender of Bainsvlei police station is the only person supporting the victim.
“Mme Mabeleng is really going out of her way to help her despite all efforts to frustrate the proceedings.”
Asked if *Lerato has alerted authorities he said yes.
“She did report this to the highest office in the province.”
Joyce “Pretenders” Mathae, Free State Premier and Treasurer General of African National Congress Women’s League appointed Lebone as acting head of Treasury in the middle of all this.

If *Lerato was killed, Premier was going to drag all her MECs and shout the loudest “GBV” because there would be cameras and the attention would be on her.
This is South Africa, god forbid, no woman should be killed for any reason but should any woman be murdered by their partner, she will be in the front line. We will remind you as always.
The case will be heard today, 16 July 2025, and according to J88 in our possession, Dr Pienaar said the victim was hit with fists and kicked.
“He hit her with fists to her face and kicked on her body, also facial scratches +/-3-4 fists punches to her face and arms; after pulling her out of the vehicle he kicked her +/- five times with booted feet to her body and butt.”
This is a developing story.
Sergeant Ngake, the investigating officer, didn’t respond to our questions.
*Lerato not her real name.
