Bloemfontein – The Free State Provincial Government (FSPG) finds itself in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as critical positions remain vacant.
With at least two positions coming to an end this year, the total vacancies could rise to seven or eight when Mosa Mosamene, the suspended head of Public Works and Infrastructure later this month is fired.
STEPUPSANEWS can confirm the following contracts are ending in September 2025.
- Dr Takisi Masiteng
- Enerst Mohlahlo
The rest of the contracts end in 2027 and 2028 respectively:
- Advocate Humphrey Malakoane, 31 March 2027
- Masechaba Sesing, Mosa Masemene, and Sugar Ramakarane, 31 August 2027
While Jacob Phahlo, Steve Tshabalala, and Dr Masego Tshabalala’s contracts will end on the 30 September 2028.
As things stand, the following positions are occupied by actors:
- Director General
- Head of Department: Social Development
- Head of Department: Agriculture and Rural Development
- Head of Department: Public Works and Infrastructure
- Head of Department: Provincial Treasury
- Head of Department: DESTEA
In addition to this Generations: Legacy project, there is movement of staff from Agriculture Rural Development to Human Settlements and COGTA in what many say is consolidation of power by MEC Teboho “Sulky” Mokoena particularly Corporate Services and Infrastructure units.
Mokoena did not just spend tax payers money on hotels as MEC of DARD and have quote for the famous Egypt trip being sent directly to him, there is more.
Free State is the most unstable province in the country, far worse than North West.
The eleven months of Joyce “Pretenders” Mathae as Premier have been nothing but chaotic, exactly as Dr Takisi Masiteng said to her face.
