Aliwal North – While the Public Service Commission (PSC) awaits action from Joyce “Pretenders” Mathae, Free State Premier and Moses “Moshe” Makume, Finance MEC on disciplinary action against Masechaba Sesing, head of department at Health, STEPUPSANEWS can confirm she was warned in 2023.
A letter in possession of this publication shows Sesing, while head of department at Treasury was advised not to “use state funds or resources to resist the investigations by the Public Service Commission”.
In the letter, Mpho Sithole, former chief director of corporate service and Sipho Mhlambi, head of legal were copied.
Brown, the erstwhile MEC for Finance said in the letter dated 07 June 2023:
“I hereby wish to advise that the utilisation of state funds or resources to counter or resist the investigations by the Public Service Commission may not be utilised in any way whatsoever.
I am of the view that the Public Service Commission has a constitutional obligation to investigate allegations and that the Department should corporate with Public Service Commission.
Since you have a conflict of interest in the matter, I do not think it is appropriate for you to bind Provincial Treasury to any financial commitment regarding this matter.”
The PSC in its report recommended consequence management in this regard.
Rampai Attorneys even tried their luck with this publication and we advised them on how to stop us from writting about the Provincial Treasury.
While it’s clear as day light that Sesing should not have used Rampai Attorneys, what was the role of Sipho Mhlambi who is the director of legal service services? Will he also be charged or will he be a witness against Sesing?
In other news, Makalo Mohale, former MEC for DESTEA is earmarked for the advertised HOD job!
This is a developing story.
