Contractor fingers Mayor’s husband in R3 million graft

Staff reporter

Parys – The husband of Victoria De Beer, the chairperson of ANC in Fezile Dabi is accused of soliciting R3 million by a contractor whose company is being dealt a huge blow by the municipally.

Robert Madie, Managing Director of Moroka JV Mbunana Building alleges he paid R400 000 in the bank account belonging to the husband of Victoria De Beer.

In a letter in possession of this publication, Madie starts by outlining how he was summoned by the ANC top brass.

“I was summoned to a meeting in Kroonstad by the Chief Whip of the ANC in Mafube whereby I was suppose to meet the top 5 of the region to discuss the terms of payment.

On arrival I met with Duma the Husband of Regional Chairperson and Regional Secretary and some few members from the Moqhaka area.

The treasurer and Regional Chair submitted their apologies for that particular sitting, but I was informed that whatever decision taken they will make them aware.”

Madie gives blow-by-blow of the transaction.

“We then later received an instruction from the Chief Whip (Kotsi) and Regional Secretary of the ANC Fezile Dabi District that an Amount of R 3 000 000.00 must be processed on the instructed said Account Details Belonging to Company Name: SKYBUILD with Account Details: 63………(FNB) which was transacted on the 03 December 2024.

We only managed to process R400 000.00 based on the reasons we stated but the Chief Whip threatened us by termination should we fail to fund the organization.”

A CIPC report shows Mdayedwa Mthombeni is the director of Skybuild, the company in which the alleged R400 000 meant for ANC was paid into.

Madie says they spent R11 million hoping to get their payment processed to no avail.

“To date we have spent R11 million out of our own pockets hoping to get any payments from the Municipality but we were then informed by Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) in our meeting that they have allocated R12 million to the Municipality to pay us.

Shouldn’t we have spent so much i think by now we should have abandoned this project due to threats from the Regional Chairperson, RS and Chief Whip of the ANC in Mafube.“

If the company claims to have spent R11 million and so far only R400 000 can be traced, who did they give R10.6 million?

This is the second incident in Free State implicating political heads and their husbands after Patrick “The Butcher” Phuti made startling allegations against Joyce “Pretenders” Mathae and her ex husband Lawrence Mathae.

Robert Madie, Managing Director at Moroka JV Mbunana Building did not respond to our questions despising promising to do so during our telephone conversation.

The ANC in the region and provincial office have not released any statement as yet.

This is the developing story.
