Advantage of incumbency or Abuse of state resources?

Parys – The African National Congress (ANC) in Free State will hold its January 8 celebrations on Saturday, 25 January 2025, in Parys.

The celebrations will start with a gala dinner on Friday with the most expensive table set at R300 000.

Leading up to the celebrations the Free State Provincial Government (FSPG) is some how hosting government events in Fezile Dabi region.

Yesterday, Teboho “Sulky” Mokoena, MEC for COGTA and Human Settlements handed new houses to beneficiaries in Vredefort while Dr Mamiki “Mathlabs” Maboya, MEC for Education launched a back-to-school campaign in Kroonstad.

Today, Ketso Makume, MEC for DESTEA will host a breakfast session with business people in Parys while Viceroy Mahlatsi, MEC for Health will attend an imbizo in Sasolburg.

Strangely, Maggie Sotyo, deputy minister of Tourism will join Education MEC in another back-to-school campaign today, in Parys.

Last year it was Public Works and Infrastructure and Community Safety, Roads, Transport in Qwaqwa when President Ramaphosa attended ANC event.

It remains to be seen how much has been spent on all these government events leading up to January 8 and procurement processes followed.

Another interesting point is a list of companies that will be paid this week by Free State Provincial Treasury, ANC funders are somewhere in between.

Patrick “The Bithcher” Phuti alleged he paid for transportation of ANCWL delegates last year.
