This is according to Teboho “Sulky” Mokoena, Member of Executive Council for Human Settlement and COGTA.

Mokoena was responding to questions in the legislature posed by D Van Vuuren from the Democratic Alliance.

Out of the 23 only 2 are awaiting decisions by Director of Public Prosecutions ( DPP), 1 is on trial (asbestos) while the remaining 20 investigations are still going on.

The oldest investigation according to the department is an investigation dating back to 2003, that’s 22 years ago.

Missing in the list are 106 companies allegedly involved in the R631 million scandal.

Despite monies paid, no houses were built.

Free State Human Settlements department remains the only department to have its former head of department convicted and sentenced to 15 years, wholly suspended.

Another former HOD, Ntimotse Mokhesi was implicated in the State Capture following R650 000 paid by a contractor for a property.
