Bloemfontein – Following the story we published in which, at least three companies were appointed despite failing to reach 24 points threshold, there is more.
Another company ROHM JV, has written to the department asking for evaluation report, after, it allegedly received intelligence that they were going to awarded the tender.
This relates to a tender awarded to Tsela Tshweu Consulting Engineers.
According to department’s document, the total cost of the project is R44 million in 36 months excluding vat.
According to the letter in position of this publication, the joint venture need answers.
“Dear Sir/Madam
I hope this letter finds you well.
I am writing on behalf of ROMH JV, which participated in the recent tender process for REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FROM A CONSULTING ENGINEERING COMPANY FOR VERIFYING 10% OF ROAD NETWORK DATA COLLECTED FOR DORA COMPLIANCE IN THE FREE STATE FOR DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SAFETY, ROADS, & TRANSPORT.”
The subject of the letter reads:
“REQUEST FOR TENDER EVALUATION REPORT: CSR&TRFP01/2023/24”
According to sources with intimate knowledge, ROMH JV received unsigned letter with their name on it but a week later, a different company was appointed.
ROHM JV has taken the department to court to declare the decision by the department to award the tender to Tsela Tshweu Consulting Engineering unlawful.
The department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport is turning out to be Father Christmas.
