Bloemfontein – The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations (DPCI) affectionately known as the Hawks in Free State have not responded to questions we sent to their Head, LG Godfrey Lebeya.
Lebeya didn’t respond to our questions, and as always, the story was published without the response.
Few hours after the story was published, Brigadier Mbambo from the provincial head office asking if they still have a right of reply.
Todays, marks 5 days since the story was published and still no right of reply from DPCI.
Below are the questions that still need to be answered:
- It’s alleged your office called Patrick Phuti on Thursday requesting a meeting with him on Friday. Can you confirm or deny this?
- If yes, who called him?
- It’s alleged on Friday, an officer from Free State met with Joyce Mathae, was the meeting sanctioned and official?
- It’s alleged the meeting was organized by (name withheld), if this is true is that lawful and ethical?
- If it’s found to be true would action be taken by your office?
- it’s also alleged a case involving Mathae’s child was swapped under the table. Can you confirm there has never been any case opened against Mathae’s child?
- Lastly, can you confirm if the Hawks are investigating Dibolelo Mahlatsi under fraud and corruption case number P COMM FS OCIU 06/07/2024?
The minutes of the alleged meeting will give a clearer picture of the 2 hours meeting.
It is in the public interest to know why the Hawks official met with Free State Premier on the same day the criminal case was opened.
This is unprecedented.
In other news a criminal case has been opened against Dr Masego Tshabalala, Head of Department at Community Safety, Roads and Transport.
This is developing story.
