ANCWL fingered in the R2 million graft transaction

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The African National Congress Women’s League ( ANCWL) is fingered in what is a damning R2 million graft transaction allegedly paid by a service provider to cover transportation of delegates to its national conference.

This follows an explosive WhatsApp text sent by Patrick Phuthi of New Beginnings Projects to Free State Premier, Joyce Mathae.

According to the text, Phuti is inquiring from Mathae why he is getting bad treatment after what he has done to both Premier and her family.

He claims to have purchased a V class 300d for the family and many numerous transactions including R400 000 he paid for the launch of her event.

Though Phuti only mentions one vehicle, STEPUPSANEWS can confirm its two vehicles names V class and 7 series which have since been repossessed by Phuti following the termination of his 36-month contracts barely in 6 months.

Phuti alleges Tau-Pele, a construction company that eventually has taken over his project gave him R2 million in cash aimed at supporting Mathae in the ANCWL conference where she was elected Treasurer General.

According to Phuti, he used the R2 million given to him by Tau-Pele to pay for taxis to carry delegates to the conference.

He also claims to have delivered R1 million in hard cash at Southern Sun for the same conference.

Another hotspot is Southern Sun, hotels bills are being paid by service providers.

Last year we reported on a meeting where Mathae allegedly told contractors to plough back to the communities or face termination.

We can also confirm the DPCI aka Hawks are also showing great interest in the latest developments in Free State.

If the Hawks can send a team to investigate the Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport in Free State the world will see State Capture as nothing.

In one tender meeting Mathae in her capacity as MEC was present, this can only happen in Free State.

Another transaction that might be of keen interest is the company that paid R1 million for a table at the recent ANC gala dinner in Nasrec.

On a lighter note, why did Mathae ask Phuti’s grandmother to help her husband with muthi?

How do you treat someone who has done so much for your family both financially and muthically like this?

France Bower of Tau-Pele Construction did not respond to our questions on the alleged transaction.

This is a developing story.
