The Community Safety Department appoint an Advocate despite the post requiring a Civil Engineer

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – The world worst worst-kept secret is out, as the Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport appointed Advocate Mojalefa Molotsi in what we reported way before the advert closed.

According to the advert, civil engineering qualification was a requirement but just like in other filled positions, that, was not the case.

STEPUPNEWS has received a text purported to be from Dr. Masego Tshabalala welcoming Advocate Molotsi.

“It is with great pleasure that I formally welcome Advocate Molotsi, our new Deputy Director General, and Ms. Evodia Malebo, our Chief Financial Officer, to the department.”

Apart from working for RTMC, Molotsi was involved in the disciplinary hearing of Papi Masilo as chairperson of the hearing, and before the process was done, Masilo was fired.

He is also involved in the disciplinary hearing of Muhammed Ismail who has been on suspension for over 13 months.

Ismail is accused of failing to lay criminal charges against employees involved in corruption but SAPS sources confirmed he laid criminal charges and he is a state witness yet facing charges.

His hearing is rescheduled for 28 October – 1 November 2024.

He will be dismissed, no matter how weak the case against him is.

A decision has been taken.

His name was included in the text that carried employees that must be fired and one by one they are dismissed unfairly.

The alleged purging by the department of suspending employees with impunity led to the HOD receiving death threats.

Tshabalala received a death threat last year with the sender of the message warning her she would pay with the blood of her family member or her daughter.
