Bloemfontein – The Office of Public Service Commission (OPSC) in the Free State has singled out the usage of a law firm in matters of personal conduct of Masechaba Sesing, Head of Department at Treasury, and asked the Premier to develop consequence management.
This is contained in the report in possession of this publication following a lengthy investigation by the OPSC.
OPSC was investigating the allegation of Sesing having unlawfully interfered with a recruitment process after, the panel had made its recommendation, and following Sesing’s involvement, the panel reconvened and changed the candidate.
Rampai Attorneys acting on behalf of Free State Treasury wrote to OPSC and attended scheduled interviews of Sesing, and two others.
The interviews did not materialize due to OPSC and Rampai Attorneys not finding each other as according to the report, the lawyers were only going to be observers while the lawyers had a different understanding, as a result, the interviews collapsed.
In the recommendations OPSC asked Premier to develop consequence management on utilisation of private attorneys.

The report was issued on the 24 November 2023 and it has since been challenged in court and judgment is reserved.
In other Treasury news, it’s alleged, Tshidiso Mokokoane, the spokesperson has been placed on precautionary suspension.
Ironically, it was Rampai Attorneys and Mokokoane who were up in arms when we reported in the PSC investigations now Karma, has located them.
This is a developing story.
