Even churches reject Dukwana

Staff reporter

Bloemfontein – Another event that turned out to be a flop as churches in Welkom say ANDIZI to Free State Premier, Mxolisi Dukwana.

With political leaders suddenly going to church either before party conferences or elections, it was no surprise that Dukwana would invite churches to an event party loyalties would say as incumbent nothing bars him from public engagements while the opposition parties might argue and say that is campaigning.

The poster sent out of the Premier’s office invited churches to a Multi-purpose center in Welkom in partnership with a Methodist church under “Peaceful Elections Prayer Service”.

There were no more than 50 people in attendance in a region the Premier is from.

This is not the first time an event Dukwana is part of has failed to attract numbers.

Apart from the infamous Freedom Day celebrations in 2024, the 2023 event was also horrible and Dukwana was nowhere to be seen.

He also missed a Health event.

He also had his fair share of objects thrown at him.

The party also lost a by-election in Paul Roux with Dukwana’s charm or lack thereof failing to sway residents to vote for the ruling party.

In other news, the party is also accused of using Social Development to lure voters to vote for ANC.
